Everyone must go to Agra if they visit Indian, but it is a rough and dirty place. The Trident was a welcomed relief from the city. The hotel staff was the best, the place was super clean, and the food was good. I felt like I was at a Hilton back in the US, but with better prices and friendlier staff. I would choose to stay here over any other hotel  in Agra, except for maybe the Oberoi.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Trident Hotel, Agra. The hotel itself was very clean, comfortable and beautiful, while the staff too was very polite and courteous. We were there with our small baby and the staff took extra care to make his visit both comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely stay there whenever we are in Agra and would definitely  recommend it to others as well.

The Trident hotel has had some negative feedback in the past. We stayed there for two nights in May 2011 and found it a haven of peace in an hectic environment. Staff were both helpful and courteous. Public areas and rooms are equally well maintainded. The furnishings are very nice and clean, no mean feat to achive in India! The evening buffet was tasty  with a range of dishes. Across the road from the hotel is is a tuc-tuc stand with prices displayed. They are not the cheapest in town but our driver, Salim, was totally reliable and skillfully drove us and was waiting for us when we returned. The doorman is more than happy to call a tuc-tuc to collect you from the hotel entrance. We did not experience any hassle for tips or indeed pressure of any kind. The only problem we had was a leak from the AC and this was fixed within 10 minutes. Although the east entrance to the Taj Mahal is closer to the hotel the west entrance is closer to the Taj itself and you get the immediate 'wow' of walking through the gate. Get there early (opens at 6am) before the crowds get there.

Got a free upgrade after our hotelroom smelled of pee. The new room had view over the pool. The rest of the hotel smelled lovely (of Jasmine - I believe). The staff was very friendly - got drinks offered during check-in and could do it comfortably sitting on the couches. Nice pool and good breakfast buffet. Food was a bit on the expensive side and the  portions a bit small. It was a good, solid hotel stay, but experienced nothing to write home about! :) Were very close to the Taj Mahal, so after getting up early we were there in short time. Also came back in time to enjoy the breakfast, which was only possibly because of the long breakfast hours! Good stuff.

I was at the Trident in Agra just for one night, but it was a wonderful stay anyway. The hotel is excellent from every point of view: very nice building (just two floors, but with very stilish decor) with beautiful lawns all around and a gorgeous swimming pool in the inner courtyard. Maintenance and cleanliness are excellent, the rooms are really comfortable  and spotless, the staff is really helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast and dinner are really good with wide range of choices. Surprisingly for a 5 star hotel the only thing missing is a health centre with a steam room and a sauna: it should be expected next to the gym, which actually is very well equipped and efficient.

Hotel looks very nice. Staff is very discrete and nice. There is a very nice courtyard with a garden and a swimming pool. Unfortunately the hotel driver was really a mess. He asked the double price (we heard this later) and he drove us to the wrong train station.

The staff here are some of the most welcoming and helpful I have met, and the hotel grounds are very nice. Given the reputation of other accommodations in Agra, I recommend the Trident. The only downside was the expensive internet service, which was slow, unreliable, and made it difficult to update our travel blog in a timely manner.
